My Research
I am the only Qualified Genealogist (QG) based in the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey. I have a Masters degree (MLitt) in Family and Local History from the University of Dundee. I have many post graduate qualifications from the University of London.
For family history prior to the early 1800’s consulting the surviving ecclesiastical records is essential. I have specialised in analysing these documents from the start of the Reformation onwards. Written in French, Guernesiaise, and Jersiaise these detail not only the vital records of birth, marriage and death, but also individual or family incidents brought before the ecclesiastical courts of the Channel Islands.

My Masters dissertation was titled
The Manuscripts of the ‘Discipline Ecclésiastique’: Social Incidents before the Guernsey Colloquy and Consistories.
The records of the Synod, Consistory and Colloquy courts, from the period 1585 to 1662, are a rarely used, but invaluable resource for family history in the Channel Islands.
